The flight was diverted in Florida due to a control issue experienced by the flight crew, according to officials.<\/p>\n<p>The flight took off from Canc\u00fan, Mexico, and made an emergency descent. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;JetBlue Airlines Flight 1230 diverted to Tampa International Airport around 2:00 p.m. local time on Oct. 30 after the crew experienced a flight control issue,&#8221; a spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said. &#8220;The Airbus 320 left Cancun International Airport and was headed to Newark Liberty International Airport. &#8220;<\/p>\n<div class=\"nlp-ignore-block article-content rich-text\">\n<aside class=\"promo-link\">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/pix11.com\/news\/us-world-news\/flight-delayed-or-canceled-during-government-shutdown-heres-what-you-should-do\/\" class=\"promo-link__link\" target=\"&quot;_blank&quot;\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\tFlight delayed or canceled during government shutdown? Here\u2019s what you should do\t<\/a><br \/>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p>The plane took off, reaching an altitude of 35,000 feet, and maintained that altitude for about 30 minutes before descending to Tampa International Airport, according to information from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/flight\/JBU1230\/history\/20251030\/1650Z\/MMUN\/KTPA\/tracklog\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.flightaware.com\/live\/flight\/JBU1230\/history\/20251030\/1650Z\/MMUN\/KTPA\/tracklog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FlightAware<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;JetBlue 1230 descending to 10,000, we&#8217;re leveling 297,&#8221; said the pilot of the flight, in audio obtained from the <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.liveatc.net\/kpie\/KPIE1-App-118800-Oct-30-2025-1800Z.mp3\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/archive.liveatc.net\/kpie\/KPIE1-App-118800-Oct-30-2025-1800Z.mp3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">air traffic control transmission<\/a>. &#8220;We need medical equipment; we have at least three people injured, maybe a laceration in the head.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The affected passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Tampa Fire Rescue spokesperson.<\/p>\n<p>The FAA is still investigating, officials said. <\/p>\n<p>The flight was met by medical personnel who evaluated the customers and crew members upon landing.
