{"id":431,"date":"2025-09-12T11:32:55","date_gmt":"2025-09-12T11:32:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltalentholding.com\/?p=431"},"modified":"2025-09-16T13:06:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-16T13:06:58","slug":"us-not-in-the-clear-24-years-after-9-11-ex-cia-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltalentholding.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/12\/us-not-in-the-clear-24-years-after-9-11-ex-cia-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"US not in the clear 24 years after 9\/11: Ex-CIA officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former CIA officer who helped fight the war on terror after the <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/state-watch\/9-11-terror-attacks-24th-anniversary\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/state-watch\/9-11-terror-attacks-24th-anniversary\/\">Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks<\/a>, says another attack against the U.S. remains possible.<\/p>\n<p>Tracy Walder, a national security contributor for The Hill&#8217;s sister network NewsNation, was part of the effort to track down 9\/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, who was killed by a Navy SEAL team in 2011. <\/p>\n<p>She tells \u201cThe Hill on NewsNation\u201d that <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5321958-israel-says-it-has-killed-hamas-leader-who-is-mohammed-sinwar\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/international\/5321958-israel-says-it-has-killed-hamas-leader-who-is-mohammed-sinwar\/\">taking out terrorist leaders<\/a> doesn\u2019t eliminate the broader threat of organizations with extreme beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can kill all of these heads, but you cannot kill the ideas that come with it,\u201d Walder said on Thursday, the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans. \u201cThese ideas are more profuse than ever, particularly with rampant social media.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nearly a quarter-century after al-Qaida struck, Walder expressed regret over U.S. intelligence failures that missed the 9\/11 plot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact of the matter is, we did miss it.
